Tricia Farmer - Chair
Subject responsibility: Literacy and DT
As a co-opted Governor and Chair, I am proud to be involved with Perryfields Infants. As a teacher myself with two children (who have happily attended this School) I am keen to support/challenge Perryfields to ensure that the children in our community have the best possible provision of education.
Susan Strudwick – Vice Chair
Subject Responsibility: Numeracy
We have lived in Springfield for 28 years. My daughter attended Perryfields infant and junior school and my son attended the junior school from Year 4. I am now retired but was a teacher for 34 years and was also a year head in the 11-18 year old sector. I have always been interested in education from start to finish!
Local Authority Governor
Subject Responsibility: Science
I am Richard Carson, Married with 2 Girls, I have been appointed as a Governor representing the County Council and I link subject is Science. Outside of being a Governor, I am a Bell Ringer at All Saints Church and regularly ring for the services. It is a pleasure being involved with Perryfields Infants School where there is always a good buzz round the school with the Children and staff.
Dr Stephen Hill
Subject responsibility: Safeguarding and Computing
I was elected as a Parent Governor in 2012 and have since taken responsibility for Safeguarding and Safer Recruitment. My drive to become a parent governor came after my children started the Infants School and through their enthusiasm and love for school I could see very quickly just how wonderful a place Perryfields Infants is.
Subject responsibility: Finance
I have worked as a local government accountant in the Education and Police sectors for 38 years before retiring as the Essex Police Finance Director in 2013. I have lived with my wife Jayne in Springfield since 1985 and our 3 children all attended Perryfields before going onto Boswells and subsequently to University education. I am now supporting my wife's new business in Broomfield running a private pre-school nursery setting. I was briefly a Perryfields Governor some years ago, but have recently returned to offer my support for the school, with a particular interest in the school's financial management.
Subject responsibility: Early Years Foundation Stage
My name is Paula Shaikhly and I am currently a full time mummy of four children after taking a break from teaching at a local primary school. Two of my children attend Perryfields Infants School, another attends Applepips Preschool and my youngest is still at home. My role as a governor is to support the school and in particular the Early years and Foundation stage.
Subject responsibility: SENCO
I became a parent governor at Perryfields at the beginning of 2014 and my subject link is the provision of support for children with special educational needs and disabilities. I have a son, who is currently in Year 1, and two daughters who I hope will attend Perryfields in a couple of years' time. For me, being a governor at Perryfields is an opportunity to influence the environment in which my children will develop their knowledge, skills and personalities.
Subject Responsibility: Music & Art
I have three children who have been, or will go, to Perryfields Infant school. Being a governor is an ideal way to give something back to the school, and to help ensure that the school carries on doing great things for all the children who go there.
I have been a governor at Perryfields Infants School for four years. I am passionate about making sure that the governors, teachers and parents work together to create a great school and community for our children. With 20 years’ experience in schools I have been a nursery nurse, class teacher, senior leader, deputy headteacher and headteacher and I have loved every second of it. It is a great privilege when parents entrust their children into our school. I live in the local Springfield Community and as a mother of a young spirited boy I strongly believe that we must develop the whole child and provide the best educational experiences possible for all our children to thrive.
I have taught at Perryfields Infant School since 2014 and have been a teacher since 2003, having previously been a solicitor in a top city firm. As the mother of 3 children, who all thrived at school and are currently engaged in university education, I am passionate about ensuring the precious infant school years are memorable and fun, as well as equipping children with the skills they will need to become happy adults and lifelong learners. Out of school, I enjoy gardening at my allotment and writing poetry.
Associated Member - Training Link
I have worked as an LSA at Perryfields since March 2013. Previously, I have worked and volunteered in a variety of educational settings, ranging from nursery aged children up to adults. Both my teenage children benefited from their formative education being at Perryfields infant and junior schools.
