Week 7 Post

Happy Chinese New Year
This first week back after half term seems to have flown by.  Going round all the classes it was fantastic to see how engrossed the children have been in their learning.
On Monday the majority of children brought in their creative Chinese fans.  The skill and detail that went into making these fans was excellent and Mr Draper our school caretaker had a very difficult job judging them.  Unfortunately he was only able to pick one winning fan from each year group.  Congratulations go to Owen in Topaz class, Amari in Sapphire class and Amelie in Diamond class who each received a cuddly toy dog.
On Tuesday it was wonderful to see several parents, carers and grandparents who came into school to take part in a variety of Chinese activities.  Obviously it isn't always possible to attend every school event and it was lovely to see the visiting adults supporting and working with several children.  All the children now have a greater understanding of when Chinese New Year is and how it is celebrated.
